We always recommend the drive around the peninsula, rather than taking the ferry. For this route, set your navigation to “Avoid Ferries.”

The drive is 20 minutes longer, but the scenery is breathtaking. You will go past the magnificent Rest and Be Thankful, and get a taste of Loch Eck - one of our favourite spots in the area.

Via M8 > Erskine Bridge > A82 > A83 at Tarbet > Left onto A815

One off-street parking spot per apartment. Plenty of nearby on-street parking.

Western Ferries offers a car ferry service to Dunoon. Sailings run every 20 minutes, 0:00, 0:20 & 0:40. See fares and timetables.

Stop into Paul’s Food & Wine, or the Greenock or Gourock Co-op to pick up tickets before getting on the ferry (on-board tickets are twice the price!)

Full car? Order a car+ 5 passengers ticket from Argyll Holidays. Must be ordered two weeks in advance, for delivery to your address.

🚕 🚌 Airport > Paisley Gilmour Street Train Station

The 757 Bus will bring you from the airport to the train station. At some times in the day, the bus runs once an hour. If it is badly timed with your arrival, we recommend hailing a cab, or grabbing an Uber - its a five minute drive that will make your connections and overall journey a lot more smooth.

Head towards the water to find the Ferry terminal directly adjacent to the station.

Sailing every half hour, at 0:20 & 0:50

Hail a cab to Jameswood, or check bus times on Google or the West Coast Motors app for regular bus service to Sandbank.

Total journey is usually between 1 hour 20 - 1 hour 40. Dependent on time of day and connections.

Head towards the watern to find the Ferry terminal directly adjacent to the station.
